Tenn. Higher Education Commission’s mind2it.com goes mobile
August 15, 2011 – Walker + Associates recently took its online and social outreach campaign for the Tennessee Higher Education Commission straight to the smart phones of Tennessee’s teens. The www.mind2it.com program was created to encourage teenagers from low-income families to continue their education after high school. The outreach program combines entertainment and popular culture with education.
The new mobile website is a streamlined version of www.mind2it.com and can be found at www.mind2it.com/mobile/.
“mind2it” is a large and active online community,” said Ceil Walker, president and CEO of W+A. “Now we’ve moved mind2it beyond the computer to connect with teens on the go.”
Smart phone data usage continues to skyrocket. According to Nielsen, consumer smart phone data usage per month grew 89 percent from the first quarter of 2010 to the first quarter of 2011.
The mind2it program was awarded the Memphis Public Relations Society’s 2009 VOX Grandis, the professional association’s top honor.
